We're a six piece rock band, founded in the early 90s, based in Fife. We've reformed after a 15 year hiatus, and are taking bookings for gigs primarily in the Central Belt of Scotland. We typically play a two hour set, but are versatile for each particular event.
The FADE started out in 1992 as a four piece (vocals, guitar, drums and bass). Founder members Raymond Donnelly and Michael Wallace continue to lead the band 25 years on.
Our first gig was at the legendary Kelty Rock Club, as the support for UK as US chart act, The Darling Buds. (A great early lesson learned that night: never be pissed going on stage!)
Another Top 40 band we supported, 'back in the day', was Goodbye Mr Mackenzie, whose keyboard player at the time, Shirley Manson, of Garbage fame. Shortly after this, we decided to add a keyboardist to our line up, which took the sound in a new direction.
Although we're not unknown to hit the studio every now and then, playing live has always been our 'thing'. The venues have varied, from the likes of Herriot watt University, 90s Edinburgh venue, the Subway, and Glasgow's famous Nice 'n' Sleazy. We were house band at the Grassmarket Black Bull pup in the mid-90s, and won a few Battle of the Bands events there and in Perth in the early noughties. Some of the places we've rocked since reforming for this third 'era' include Fringe venue Whistle Binkies, our local gigspot, PJ Molloys, and even a festival - 'T in the Humbug'!
Life gets in the way...
Eventually jobs, family, marriages kids arrived and gigging eventually had to be put on hold. We all kept in touch as friends. And now (since 2015) we decided to give it a go again - purely for the enjoyment of it!
"Keep on rocking...!"
