TUNE Sipprell - Nu Low
June 19th will see the release of ‘NU LOW’, the second single from Sipprell’s highly anticipated upcoming EP ‘Bad History’.
Following on from first single ‘Like We Don’t Care’, Sipprell has teamed up with grammy award winning producer Lophile and Chloe Martini to create this infectious, groove driven powerhouse single.
Nu low is a song about people who feel no empathy or remorse for their actions. ‘That final straw that gives you the strength and courage to break the mental chains someone or something can have over you.’
Sipprell is already well known among the London R&B scene, uniquely distilling powerful emotion and feeling into her own sound and style. She began songwriting and composing her string arrangements at an early age, Nu Low is a great showcase of these skills, most notably in the delicate string outro she arranged and plays at the end of the track.
She has been championed in the UK by BBC 1XTRA as their ‘Best Of British’ and has seen features and premieres in numerous publications such as COMPLEX, Notion, DUMMY mag and more. As well as receiving regular support from BBC Radio and other national stations.
‘I seriously questioned whether it was right for me to release music during this time. It seemed futile compared to what’s going on in the world and I didn’t want to take up space.
But I realised there will never be a ‘right time’ to release music, because our fight for justice needs to be ongoing, not just a phase we’re over by next month. Somehow we need to still use and share our voices with the world, whilst keeping the spotlight on the most important issues.’
