TUNE Broken Records - Perfect Hollow Love
Broken Records release new single ‘Perfect Hollow Love’ via J Sharp Records on 30th March, taken from forthcoming album ‘What We Might Know’ (also 30th March).
Lyrically, Jamie Sutherland has taken a more narrative approach, using stories of characters as a means of understanding where the band are in 2018. Obligation, joy, failed and successful relationships, the light and dark of moving through a decade of relative uncertainty and the wonder and pain of watching children arrive with the realisation that our parents’ generation have passed over the baton of adulthood to their children, all figure in the album’s rhythms and concerns.
‘Perfect Hollow Love’ finds the narrator discovering what is important in love, the hard work, the companionship, and shedding any grand illusions in that realisations wake.
Broken Records will tour in April: Church Dundee (21st), Summerhall Edinburgh (26th), Tollbooth Stirling (27th), Lemon Tree Aberdeen (28th). More TBA.
