TUNE Apothek - Roaring
Kicking off the album, ‘Roaring’ sets precedent from the get go. Soft synth pads driven by melodious vocals layer and build, until a seemingly uncontainable climax breaks in new boundaries for the track.
Despite the subtlety of the building layers, producer Nils Martin Larsen says, “Roaring is possibly the lightest of the tracks production wise”, which works perfectly to ease listeners into the record. “The bass line shows Nils' ‘groovy’ side, that I rarely see”, explains vocalist Morten Myklebust, helping to pull him from a bout of writers block he was experiencing at the time.
Catching the keen eye of Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1), Mark Radcliffe, Stuart Maconie (BBC Radio 6music), Maz Tappuni (Radio X), Dani Charlton, Greg Porter (Amazing Radio) and championed by the likes of The Guardian Guide, Sunday Times Culture, Q Magazine, Noisey, Clash and The Sun in addition to appearing in Spotify’s ‘Spotlight for 2016’, Apothek are a force to be reckoned with.
