TUNE Octavia Freud - Video call
Written just before lockdown, following a night out raving with friends at London's Dungeon Module, 'Video call' is an existential rant set to an old school acid house groove. Octavia Freud's Iggy-esqe drawl laments the lockdown of club culture in an age of isolation and is a plea to the simple urge to dance in your living room. In the process it gives a good kicking to the recent Zoomification of our lives through the proliferation of middle management meetings now taking place across our domestic spaces. Way before JARV_IS had even had a sniff of Cov-rave, 'Video Call' is an angry and uplifting rant and groove set to 808 beats and French kiss style synth stabs.
"I've had enough of all your words, cos all I wanna do is move,
to the rhythm of the room"
