TUNE SHYAWAY - Reverie
Reverie is about looking back at one's youth; the trials, tribulations and general japes we found ourselves in at an impressionable age. As the years pass by, it becomes easier to look back at those nostalgic memories; the TV adverts we saw during Saturday morning television, the now-discontinued chocolate bars we scoffed at kid's birthday parties, and the friends we once had who now live different lives.
Musically, the track was primarily composed on a 1960s glockenspiel, a toy piano and an Irish dulcimer, then fed through effects pedals for extra dreaminess. Synths and drums were then brought in to modernise it a touch. Fittingly, an old friend also sang some backing vocals on the song.
It's a short vignette of a track; one for listening to through rose-tinted headphones.
