Perhaps something was wrong with the translation in Iceland, because if there is one thing that Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnardóttir doesn't do, than it is to lay low. The very productive and active Lovísa learned to play piano, bass and guitar in her youth. Some of her solo songs caught the attention on MySpace. The combination of blues, folk en country with her own twist gave her a record deal for debut album Please Don't Hate Me in 2006. It did not take long before awards and international appreciation came her way. Farewell Good Night's Sleep was released in 2008, an album where you can hear what music Lovísa listens to: country, roots and old gospel, together with a lot of new indie bands. After a lot of shows and even an acting career the third album of Lay Low is about to be released. Songs in Icelandic, written to poems by Icelandic women from the 19th century to the 21th century.
