TUNE Laren J. Rapp - Wild Times We're In
This first solo outing, “Wild Times We’re In”, is an ode describing personal frustrations surrounding a year full of political turmoil, civil injustices, and a country left unraveled by the global COVID-19 pandemic. The track is jam packed with talent, featuring his cousin Anna Blanton (Colter Wall) on fiddle and backing harmonies, as well as locally renowned string player Jeff Guernsey (Vince Gill) on mandolin.
The sounds of News helicopters flying back and forth can be heard at the end of the song and were accidentally recorded by Laren as he worked on recording the song in his garage in his hometown of Jeffersonville, IN which is directly across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY. The helicopter sounds were captured as they covered the protests and reactions of the local population on the evening the Supreme Court released their findings for Breonna Taylor's case. They act as a tribute to Breonna Taylor as well as a testament of the current times we all are apart of.
“Wild Times We’re In” is the first single off of his upcoming 2021 EP, announcement date pending.
