Kristin McClement's music is born of two separate worlds; the vast shape shifting landscape of her childhood South Africa engraved with the melancholic romance of old England's sacred woodland, rivers and valleys.
After recording and releasing her first self titled EP, Kristin began working alongside producer David Ringland (Birdengine, Laish). In the spring of 2013 The EP Pursue The Blues was released. Recorded and mixed on good old fashioned tape this collection of songs reveals her voice and guitar at their most solitary and intimate.
Kristin's debut album The Wild Grips is set for release on 23rd February 2015 via Willkommen Records.
Produced and engineered by Christian Hardy (The Leisure Society) the album features London based previous long-time band members Becca Mears on cello (Peggy Sue, Eyes and No Eyes, The Mariner’s Children) and Tom Heather on drums (Eyes and No Eyes, Rachael Dadd).
The Wild Grips is a wide-eyed rendering of modern folk song where the acoustic and the electronic rub alongside.
