1 So Drya/p
Riotous garage rockers Gaffa Tape Sandy continue their relentless punk assault with punishing new cut So Dry, the second track lifted from sophomore EP Family Mammal, out 9th August via acclaimed indie label Alcopop! Records. Spearheaded by rampageous EP lead single Headlights earlier in the spring, the Bury St. Edmunds outfit are already turning heads with their eclectic brand of high-octane rock ‘n’ roll, leaning heavily on the unique dual vocals of Kim Jarvis and Catherine Lindley-Neilson and attracting widespread acclaim (NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Dork) in the process. “Generally as a band we try to keep spitefulness and vehemence out of our songwriting, but sometimes it seeps through and So Dry is a result of that leak”, the three-piece revealed. “We don’t really like arguing as a whole, but expressing yourself is very important, so we like to think of this song as us raising our voices anonymously at the people who make us mad as hell”. Heralded as one of NME’s 100 Essential Acts for 2018, the rising trio have developed an impressive live reputation supporting the likes of Indoor Pets, IDLES and Peace, whilst much-lauded displays at Latitude (BBC Introducing), The Great Escape and Live At Leeds have lead to a slew of festival appearances (including Glastonbury and Truck) being lined up over the coming weeks. Produced by George Perks (SuperGlu), Gaffa Tape Sandy’s So Dry is released 21st June via Alcopop! Records (Art Brut, Kagoule, ITOLDYOUIWOULDEATYOU) and will be available via all digital platforms.
