Manchester/Oxford based DIY trio False Advertising present their forthcoming single ‘Hey You’. A scarily accessible rallying cry against gender-stereotyping, with a sound rooted in fuzzy, 90s alternative rock. This is the sound of three musicians fighting for their seat at the table, rising above the stupidity. The noise of three friends wanting to escape the monotony of their day jobs. Not wanting to wait to be told what to do by somebody else and translating that independence and power into scarily accessible, loud, music. Later in the Autumn, Jen, Chris and Josh will then release forthcoming EP ‘I Would Be So Much Happier If I Just Stopped Caring’, on limited edition cassette firstly, exclusively on the band’s forthcoming UK tour ahead of general release on October 22nd. The tour runs over 19 headline dates across September / October, with dates including London, Manchester, Brighton, Birmingham, Newcastle, Hull, Reading, Stowmarket and many more. “I Would Be So Much Happier...” EP was recorded between Abbey Road (where the band had to cut their session short because ‘they were too loud’), Low Four Studio in Manchester, AOO Studios in Hull and at the band’s own rehearsal space. Fusing the band’s DIY ethos with a host of new collaborators, including Brendan Williams (Mercury nominated for his work with Go Go Penguin) and Pat Pretorious (The Talks). The EP collects the releases which the band have dropped throughout 2017, continuing a year which has already seen the DIY band showcase at Texas’s SXSW Festival, play at Kendal Calling, Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape featured in NME magazine, support Idles and The Amazons and gain support on the airwaves from BBC Radio 1, BBC6 Music, BBC Introducing, Radio X and Amazing Radio.
