New Jersey singer-songwriter Colton Kayser grew up daydreaming in class and writing songs by the binder. As he grew, so did his work ethic, and he has been quietly chipping away and perfecting his craft ever since.
Kayser’s self-titled debut album has been an anticipated one—as he has gained a strong NJ fan base prior to releasing any official material. Influenced by artists like Bob Dylan, Wilco, and John Prine, Kayser mixes rock, folk, country, and pop music styles, and places a strong emphasis on lyrical content and melodic structure. He has also been fortunate enough to play venues all over the United States and connect with people from all different walks of life.
“Music is how I observe and react to life. Every song I write is a little part of my experience.”
The songwriter’s talents have not gone unnoticed, with nominations for Top Male Acoustic Act in the Asbury Music Awards in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and Top New Male Act at the 2012 Jersey Acoustic Music Awards.
Colton’s Self-Titled Debut Record is available on ITunes, Amazon, Spotify and everywhere else there’s good stuff on the web.
