Geography of the Moon
Psych wave like summer
Geography Of The Moon is a collaboration between singer songwriter Virginia Bones and multi-instrumentalist producer Santa Pazienza.
Largely influenced by bands from the 80s and the the 90s, somewhere between psych rock, post punk, new wave and indie rock, they create their own brand of mashed up styles: Psychwave.
Tongue in cheek lyrics and a silvery voice on top of hypnotic looped layers of guitars, synth and electronic drums.
On stage, these two like to do whatever they please and often end up improvising improbable melodies, creating beautiful and strange new soundscapes.
Their third release is titled Fake Flowers Never Die and comes out on Bandcamp on the 12th of June. https://geographyofthemoon.bandcamp.com/
“Representing the best elements of the expat music scene in Phnom Penh, GOTM is unreservedly challenging, innovative, different and creative.
Taking full advantage of the freedom to do generally what they please on the stage, Andrea and Virginia have crafted a fluid set of original music - which ebbs and flows according to the space they find themselves performing in.
The outcome is a new, fresh, unique performance at each gig.”
