Scottish solo artist Amy Duncan writes emotive and intimate songs, combining layered vocals with intricate acoustic guitar loops and electronics, creating a dreamy folk-pop sound.
Her debut album ‘Pilgrimage’ was released on the US label Plain Recordings in 2006 after they discovered Amy’s home recordings on My Space.
Amy self-released a further 2 albums achieving TV placements on BBC 3 Lip Service and the Netflix version of ‘Charmed’.
Creative Scotland funding made it possible for Amy to work with one of Scotland’s finest producers Calum Malcolm (Prefab Sprout, The Blue Nile) leading to Amy’s 4th album Cycles of Life being released on Linn Records in 2013. Since then she has gone on to record a further 2 albums with him ‘Undercurrents’ (2016) and ‘Antidote’ (2017).
Amy's new album The Hidden World was released on 12 June 2020. The songs are engineered, mixed and mastered by Cameron Malcolm who produced Mid Air by Paul Buchanan (The Blue Nile).
Amy plays guitar, synths, piano and electric upright bass on the album which features Guy Nicolson (Moishes Bagel) on percussion and tablas.
